CONSUL ALIX ATTENDS NDMA BRIEFING

Islamabad, 11 September 2025 - First Secretary and Consul Juan Paolo G. Alix of the Philippine Embassy in Islamabad attended a briefing hosted by Pakistan's National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) for members of the diplomatic community, featuring an overview of recent hydrometeorological events, district-level risk mapping, and a decision-support platform for public warnings and response coordination.

The NDMA presentation highlighted an integrated tool that brings together weather and river-flow forecasts with population and critical-infrastructure data to generate operational "common operating pictures" for planners. The system supports rapid updates, district-wise advisories, and ready-to-use public information materials, including school-safety guidance and community preparedness messages.

The Embassy will continue to coordinate closely with NDMA and provincial disaster management authorities, monitor advisories relevant to areas with Filipino communities, and amplify official guidance through its public information channels. Filipinos in Pakistan are encouraged to follow local alerts, prepare personal contingency plans for short hazard spells, and keep the Embassy's contact details in their mobile devices.
