AMBASSADOR FERNANDEZ JOINS MARKA-E-HAQ CELEBRATION |

Islamabad, 3 October 2025 - His
Excellency Dr. Emmanuel R. Fernandez, Philippine Ambassador to Pakistan,
graced the Marka-e-Haq commemoration held on 2 October 2025 at the
Serena Hotel, hosted by the Prime Minister's Youth Programme (PMYP). The
event drew a distinguished assembly of diplomats, government officials,
youth leaders, and civil society representatives, underscoring the
importance of solidarity and remembrance in advancing Pakistan's
national narrative. In addition to Ambassador Fernandez, the diplomatic contingent included the Ambassadors of Poland, Azerbaijan, Sri Lanka, and Vietnam, alongside representatives from the Embassies of Indonesia, Ukraine, Morocco, and Uzbekistan. The gathering was also attended by senior Pakistani dignitaries, including Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan, Chairman of the Prime Minister's Youth Programme; Mr. Hamid Asghar Khan, Additional Foreign Secretary (for Africa); as well as by federal and provincial ministers, members of the National Youth Council, youth activists, and members of academia. In his address, Chairman Rana Mashhood highlighted Pakistan's strides in technological defense and youth skill development, citing efforts under the PMYP to equip young people with training in IT, hospitality, and vocational sectors. He paid homage to the heroes of the Marka e Haq campaign and urged participants to translate remembrance into renewed action for the country's progress. The commemoration also featured a thematic video presentation and award recognitions for outstanding youth contributors. The presence of the diplomatic corps served as an affirmation of Pakistan's global connections and the shared values of peace, resilience, and empowerment. |
